Palconit, Andrian P. INTEGRATION OF TRANSFORMATIONAL APPROACH IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TAYTAY SA KAUSWAGAN INCORPORATED (TSKI) PROGRAM IN SAMAR AREA. Reyes, Ph.D. Professor VI Eastern Visayas State University Tacloban City The study was focused on the integration of transformational approach in the implementation of Taytay sa Kauswagan Incorporated (TSKI) program in Samar Area. Specifically, the study determined the profile of clients in terms of the following factors: Economic, Socio-cultural and Spiritual. Further it focused on the extent of integration of transformational approach implemented along Loan Program and Business Development Program. Finally, it determined the significant difference in the extent of integration of transformational approach in the program offered to clients and significant relationship in the profile of clients and the extent of integration of transformational approach in the programs offered. The study used the correlational research method with 150 clients from each districts of Borongan, Catbalogan and Catarman with a total of 450 clients as respondents. The data gathered were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation (Pearson r) and the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) through the computer software of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). On the bases of the data gathered and the results of analysis, the following were the findings of the study: The economic profile of clients in terms of household income, largest group of clients have an income ranging from P10, 440 to 13, 919 gross income per month with 24.7 percent; majority of the clients with 43.1 percent have semi permanent or temporary type of housing; most of them owns one to two low-priced and less expensive appliances and inexpensive furniture with 38 percent; and most of the clients have diploma in vocational school with 37.3 percent. The socio-cultural profile showed that 45.8 of the clients as majority, attends the meeting regularly; most of them have a water sealed toilets, drinking from jetmatic pumps, waste and garbage disposed by burning and satisfactory family health coping index with 41.1 percent; majority of them have borrowed money from subsidized government agencies with 48.7 percent; and 39.6 percent of them have no business records, on and off business, location rented and break even or loss. The spiritual profile of the clients showed that, 49.8 percent of them can do prayer and bible study of at least thrice a week; most of them with have family time together of once a month; in terms of church fellowship and Christian community involvement majority can attend church regularly with 47.1 percent; and 51.3 percent of them considering its majority were not indulged in vices, fair credit management, fair household management and fair time management. The extent of integration of transformational approach shows an overall mean of the following: Compulsory Group Training Process with a mean of 3.24 interpreted as To a Moderate Extent; Group Recognition Test Process with a mean of 3.13 interpreted as To a Moderate Extent; Weekly Center meeting Process with a mean of 3.07 interpreted as To a Moderate Extent, Transformational/Spiritual with a mean of 3.56 interpreted as To a Moderate Extent; and Entrepreneurial Training with a mean of 3.60 interpreted as To a Great Extent. All process under loan program and trainings under business development program were considered as significantly different; Compulsory Group Training Process, (.003), Group Recognition Test Process, (000), Weekly Center Meeting Process, (000), Transformational/Spiritual Training, (000), and Entrepreneurial Training, (000). In the relationship between the profile of clients and the transformational approach of Loan Program, yielded significant result in the profile of clients in relation to Compulsory Group Training Process were: “Health and health Practices” with an r of .119, “Livelihood project/micro business management” with an r of .111, “Family time together” with an r of .182, and “Church fellowship/Christian Community Involvement” with an r of .219. In relation to Group Recognition Test Process, profile of clients that have significant result were: “Household durables and acquisition with an r of .132, “Education of family members” with an r of .159, “Health and health practices with a r of .122, “Time for prayer and bible study with an r of .096, and “Family time together” with an r of .193. For the Weekly Center Meeting Process, the following that have significant relationship were: “Household income” with an r of .155, “Household durables and acquisitions” with an r of .195, “Health and health practices” with an r of .275, “Livelihood project/micro business management” with an r of .154 and Church fellowship/Christian community involvement” with an r of .105. In the relationship between the profile of clients and transformational approach of Business Development Program, yielded significant result in the Transformational/Spiritual Training were: “Household durables and acquisition” with an r of .186, “Education of family members” with an r of .156, “Health and health practices with a computed r of .133, and Church fellowship/Christian community involvement” with an r of .099. For the Entrepreneurial Training, the following that have significant relationship were: “Household Income” with an r of .194, and “health and health practices” with an r of .191. Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions are drawn: The economic profile of the clients was good enough, mostly were able to reach a gross household income per month ranging from P10, 440 to P13, 919. Many of them have Semi-temporary type of houses, owned one to two inexpensive appliances and furniture, have diploma in vocational education, can attend the meeting regularly, with satisfactory health coping index, borrows from subsidized government agencies, have time for prayer of at least thrice a week, spend quality time with their family once a month, and can attend church regularly, not indulge in vices. However, most of them have poor business records. Most of the activities within the programs both Loan and Business Development program were implemented at a moderate extent and few at a great extent. To point out with those activities were at a great extent: Transformational/Spiritual Training and Entrepreneurial Training both under Business Development Program. There was a significant difference in the integration of transformational approach of TSKI program implementation among the three districts. There was significant relationship between the transformational approach and the profile of clients along the following: Household Income, Household durables and acquisitions, Education of family members, Health and health practices, Livelihood project/micro business management, Time for prayer and bible study, Family Time together, Church fellowship/community involvement. The researcher recommends the following: Since it was found out that the clients have poor business records, the district should encourage the implementation of business record monitoring within the center level and have it included as part of the training subject. The following activities are further recommended to be conducted in the Weekly Center Meeting Process: (a) the PA shall conduct an orientation on the importance of recording in business (b) after the conduct of the said training, the PA shall lead the members to make a written action plan for their business records (c) the PA shall have a constant checking of the members’ business record; To developed unity in the implementation of transformational approach integration few things are recommended: trainings shall immediately be conducted to the staff every time there is a new updates. (b) there shall be a close monitoring especially on the staff and (c) Superiors shall conduct a constant coaching to the new staff; It has been observed that integration transformational approach has to do with the profile of the clients, thus, the existing transformational activities shall be improved and implemented at a greater extent. Improvement of the activities can be attained by providing new reading materials, additional of transformational facilities such guitar, tambourines, and other praise and worship instruments; To promote favorable attitudes in the acceptance of implementation in district, unit and center level, higher authorities should sanction rules and regulations in favor to the integration of transformational approach; A similar work should be conducted in other areas of the region and other Microfinance Institution to corroborate the findings of the present work.
