Many athletes understand the jargon and function of the equipment they use, whether its bike components, shoe design, or sports drinks. But when it comes to the more important toolsthe parts of the human bodymost are at a loss on how to properly maintain and fix them. Referred pain is when one part of the body feels the pain originating from another part of the body. The tricky part is that you wont necessarily have pain from the originating source. Hence, its sometimes difficult to pinpoint the pains headquarters. And in the case of knee pain, its most likely stemming from your thighs.

"Tying one on" may make it harder to take it off later. Especially if you show up to one of our classes hung-over. It can result in a brutal experience. But we get that people like to have a drink here or there (Ive been guilty of it myself!), and we dont suggest that our clients should not drink while they train. But just like everything else in life, take it in moderation.

Sweating is the bodys way of cooling down and regulating body temperature. Its a naturally healthy way to purge toxins and increase your metabolism. But ""binge sweating"" - sweating solely for the purposes of losing weight - is not good for the body. Never heard that term, you say? You may be guilty of it without even knowing it.

No matter how good of shape youre in, anyone can get a compressed disc. I have one, and Im a personal trainer. Yet, Ive been struggling with pain in my hand for years now, all resulting from a single compressed disc in my neck.
