Sunlight helps planet earth sustain life, although it also carries risk because too much of the sun's ultraviolet radiation can raise the risk of developing skin cancer.

Infants have such lovely, fragile skin, but the absence of melanin in a baby's skin means that they are very prone to sunburn. Also, an infant's skin is much thinner than that of an adult, so they require extra caution when being exposed to the sun. It's vital that infants still go outdoors, though; keeping them indoors to avoid the sun keeps them from getting the Vitamin D that they need from the sun.
