Also called Boro, Middlesbrough Football Club is a very professional Football Club plays in the Premier League and is based in Middlesbrough, England. Founded in 1876, Middlesbrough Football Club has been playing in the Riverside Stadium which boasts of a seating capacity of above 35000, since 1995. This Stadium has been their third ground since they turned out as professionals in 1876. Besides this, Middlesbrough Football Club is also the founding member of the Premier League in 1992. New Castle United and Sutherland stay their strongest and main rivals. The club’s best ranking in the league was way back in 1913-14 season when they finished third. But as far as consistency is concerned, they have never shied away from that as they haven’t spent more than a couple of seasons outside the Football League’s top two divisions.

Middlesbrough
There have been serious financial problems in the club, when it came down on the verge of getting closed in 1986, which was saved by a group which was led by then Board Member and now, the Chairman of the club, Steve Gibson. Middlesbrough Football Club has also won the League cup n the year 2004, which incidentally has been it s first and only major trophy till date. Former captain of the club, Gareth Southgate is the current manager since 7th June 2006.

The traditional colors of the Middlesbrough Football Club have been Red with a few variations of white. There has been a series of Crests as well in the history of the club and the latest one is a lion rampant which was incorporated in May 2007. The official mascot of the Club is Roary, The Lion. Middlesbrough Football Club has a decent fan following from the various pats of the world which includes Norway, Northern Ireland, South Korea, Singapore, New York and many more. The latest stadium of Middlesbrough Football Club was named by the unanimous vote by the supporters of the club in 1995 and thus Riverside Stadium came into picture. Earlier it had the seating capacity of 30000 which was later expanded to more than 35000 capacities in 1998.
